El Maguey is our "go-to" place for Mexican food in Kailua-Kona. Family run. Can be a bit slow. Chile rellenos and enchiladas are our favorites, but we also like the taco salad and chile verde. We've heard good things about the chimichangas as well. It is a rather small restaurant located in a small strip mall at 74-5563 Kaiwi St., Ste 67, near the 4-way stop on Kuakini Hwy. as you're going toward Old Airport Beach Park.
