This fun little stop is located "just one turn off on Highway 19 (Mamalahoa Hwy) near the 24 mile marker. The store and restaurant (temporarily closed) is about 35 minutes from Hilo, 20 minutes from Honokaʻa and 45 minutes from Waimea." The food is good! They have a great source of fresh fish each day, so the fish items (sandwiches, fish tacos, fish and chips) are great. The taro burger is nicely seasoned and gets rave reviews (note that it doesn't come with fries, though you can order them on the side). Pizzas and a few salads too, and some other sandwiches like a traditional BLT. The only place to eat onsite currently is along a small outside counter to the right as you go in. It maybe seats six. The grocery store is small and eclectic; you can buy items like Thai curry paste or organic red wine in a box. There is even an EV (electric vehicle) charger at the site, and you can refill propane tanks, as well! Call to check the daily specials or to order to go at 808-339-7614. Online ordering is also available. Open every day but Sunday, from 10am-7pm. Breakfast is served from 10am-11:30am, but Loco Mocos are served all day. Lunch/Dinner from 11am-7pm.
