Pine Tree Cafe' (Kailua-Kona) * * *   Posted by on Monday, 25 January 2021, at 6:59 a.m.

We love Pine Tree Cafe' for an assortment of "local" style items, with speedy to-go service and good prices. One of the best kept secrets on the island is their Fried Poke Bowl, which has chunks of sautéed, fresh ahi over either white or brown rice, with their special aoli sauce and furikake on top. Some Japanese-style pickles are included, as well. Just the right size. We know people who love their Chicken Katsu, Spicy Garlic Chicken, Loco Mocos, hamburgers and Bento boxes too. Some entrees can be ordered in a "bowl" format. Anything with fresh fish is great. Konabob loves their veggie omelet. It took only ten minutes to get our lunch order yesterday. Order over the phone or at the counter and wait outside to be safest. Located in the shopping center where Kona Mountain Coffee is on Queen Kahahumanu Hwy on the mauka side, about 10 minutes south of the airport. Phone: (808) 327-1234.
