Kona Canoe Club is now open for lunch and dinner and this is probably the best time I’ve ever seen to go there. (I have seen it SO crowded at times in the past.) They just recently reopened and when we were there for dinner there were hardly any other customers – one or two tables and a few people at the bar. Wear mask going in, (sanitizer for use on hands at entrance,) take mask off when at your table. The waitress wears a mask. I do want sensible distance and safety precautions and I definitely feel safe at Canoe Club.
Canoe Club is inside Kona Village shopping center which is on Alii Drive, Canoe Club right on/by the ocean. Full bar. We ate seafood dishes last time, including clam chowder. Food was fresh, tasty, fairly priced. This has been our favorite place for dinner for years because it’s simple, friendly, comfortable, with outside dining. ALSO it has the best and NEAREST view of the ocean/Bay of any Kona dining establishment I know of. ( At times I’ve thought the waves might splash on me but so far they haven’t.) Wait staff is all female, efficient and friendly. Consider yourself fortunate if Kaila serves you, she always seems the totally perfect manager; and genuinely nice, as opposed to business nice. - Harry A2 June 10, 2020
