Shaka Tacoz (Captain Cook) * * *   Posted by on Tuesday, 3 September 2019, at 9:03 a.m.

We LOVE this food truck's tacos! And the owners are wonderful, warm people too. There is a place to sit down and enjoy your food inside after you order from the truck. Our friends from L.A. said this is the closest to L.A. street tacos that they've found here, though Shaka also offers regular tacos, burritos and bowls, steak salad, quesadillas and more. They have some very good homemade hot sauces too; my favorite is the verde. Add quacamole to anything for free. $2 tacos on Taco Tuesday (usually 3 for $11). Great flavors, and presented with finesse. Hours: 11am-8pm. Located across from Amy B. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden at 82-6167 Mamalahoa HWY, Captain Cook (used to be called Shred Town Tacos. Same owners).
