|Ham Radio signal reports (Q1 through Q5) are a short-hand way of discribing:|
"How well you understand another station's voice transmission."
As a way to make your reports more meaningful to others,
consider using these guidelines when making a report.
To discuss Signal Strength, we us S-Units, not Q1 to Q5.
|Q1||Audio barely heard or not heard at all. No words actually understood.|
|Q2||Occasional words or phrases distinguishable.|
Unable to understand what was being communicated.
|Q3||Understood the topic but not every sentence was heard.|
|Q4||All sentences are understood, but extra concentration was required.|
|Q5||Understand every word effortlessly.|
