Two Step

Facetious or not, it entirely within the realm of possibility that the dolphins miss having someone to play with. They may have, in fact been attracted to Two Step because of all the people. I had a friend (old time Kona Webbers will remember her as Rocky) who was kayaking at Two Step. A dolphin did a double back flip with a full twist directly over her head. Do you think that was an accident? Scientists have their heads where the sun don't shine sometimes. Dolphins are very curious about people, and if they've grown up with people in the water, they accept them as part of the environment. Of course, no one should pursue a dolphin or attempt to get closer to them. But if you stay still, you may enjoy the thrill of them coming up to you. And they will protect humans from sharks.
