Moving to Kona June 24. :/
After 7 years of planning, we are moving to Kona (actually Holualoa) June 24th.
We'll be firmly locked up inside for 2 weeks. We have friends that will bring us food and supplies.
I'm sure I have some more questions, but I don't know what they all are yet.
We may not need a rental car for the first 2 weeks (really - won't be going anywhere), but after that... Are they still renting cars? Ours won't arrive on-island until half way through July, and is arriving in Hilo, so we may need one for a week or two.
Are there grocery delivery services? Our hale will be quite a trek up a private road - probably no grocery delivery, eh? Google maps is WAY off. LOL!
Here in Wisconsin, most restaurants are curb-side pickup only, I'm sure it's similar over there.
We'll be joining a few ukulele groups in Kona - I know already they are not meeting, but we are looking forward to joining that beautiful community as soon as it is safe to do so.
My wife would like to build a business at the farmer's market - that will have to wait, probably until the cruise ships return. :[
I really hope this damn virus gets lost and tourism returns soon. Our friends run a B&B and one is a local pilot, so they are really hurting right now.
We will have an income, as I work online. Are there any small businesses we should frequent that need the business more than the big box stores?
I might need to buy a few ukuleles from the Holualoa Ukulele Gallery when we get there. And of course a mountain of Killer Tacos.
Any other advice you can provide a couple and 2 cats for moving in this very uncertain time?
