theft from locked car in Kona Pier parking lot

Maybe 4 days ago 2 women who are locals, work nearby, parked and locked their car in Kona Pier parking lot and went for a swim. They had hidden their wallets in "bags" inside the car. (I wondered if those were ladies' shoulder bags.) Anyway someone got inside their car and stole wallets of both women. They called cops who came quick, but still as far as Wednesday, yesterday, no good news about the case or wallets.
This is first time I ever heard of a theft at Kona Pier or that parking lot. But in these times some people might be desperate.
Anybody who plans to park in that lot and go for a swim, BE CAREFUL.
