Termite Treatment Methods
In response to 143618: are there alternatives to tenting?, posted by Michael 78 on Friday, 25 October 2019, at 10:26 a.m.
Aloha Michael, There are several companies on the big island that use orange oil. They claim it works as good at tenting. Copy & paste this URL into a browser.
However the tenting companies claim that the chemicals they use leave no residue. I believe them (I had two years of college chemistry). It's a gas. You open the house up after the tent is removed and let it air out for a day and that's it. With orange oil, the technicians have to find every spot where the critters have a nest. If they miss a spot in a hard to access nook or cranny, then you still have termites that can spread to other parts of the house. The gas penetrates even the smallest nooks & crannies and kills every termite, ant, centipede, cockroach and any & all other insects anywhere in the house. Just sayin'.
