In response to 143610: Interview about recycling change, posted by Sherry B on Saturday, 19 October 2019, at 12:22 p.m.
Going to the transfer station in Kona yesterday was totally demoralizing. I always felt good about separating all my plastic, paper and metals from cardboard and glass. To see those two "mixed" dumpsters missing was just downright depressing. I had to take all my "recyclables" up to the garbage area. Yet they say it won't have an effect on the landfill? Well then that must mean that only a small percentage of people were actually recycling. Either that or they are not taking into consideration that the plastic does not decompose. In the long term, it will HAVE to have an effect.
