In response to 143504: Most reliable 4WD/AWD vehicles to own on the Big Island, posted by Mark E on Saturday, 14 September 2019, at 5:18 p.m.
I had a Ford Ranger and like it, but then flipped it on its' side. "I fought a rock and the rock won". It was a 4-WD but had only small back seats that folded down facing each other. So I would go to Costco and a package of paper towels and one of toilet paper took up the back seat.
I scoured the island for a 4-WD that had a large bed and a large back seat and finally found a 4-WD 2006 Toyota Tundra. I really like it and many people have commented that it they like my truck too. I wish it had side steps but it has a moon roof that opens at an angle (to keep rain out) or can be slid back to fully open. It also has a full back window that slides down rather than those little sliding windows.
The Tundra and Tacoma look alike but are quite different. Here is how: https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/toyota-tacoma-vs-tundra.
