In response to 143490: Papayas??, posted by Harry Pritikin on Thursday, 5 September 2019, at 11:31 a.m.

It was about papayas--some type of liquid or slime (which seemed rather gross) and made me wonder if washing with a certain type of liquid or soap would make the fruit palatable. I never eat the skin, even if washed. I also heard about the lettuce--a similar problem with not washing thoroughly. I'm ' scrupulous about washing it and hope restaurants are too. Thanks for answering.

Cheers (or should that be "Aloha!") HMH
