All I raelly want is hurricane insurance, maybe.

So far, I've received quotes from 2 different brokers, both using HPIA as the underwriter. Hurricane insurance, which I want, is extra. I wasn't happy with the homeowners policy quotes, but am now interested in a stand-alone hurricane policy.
I'm still waiting for quotes from 2 other brokers, who will use Great Lakes. I bet I won't like those, either.
We've been in this house for 15 years, as of yesterday, and have always elected to forgo any property insurance. In those years, as the rest of my adult life, nothing has ever happened where insurance would have come to the rescue. I generally dislike insurance, and only have the state-mandated auto insurance.
However, climate change has increased the potential impact of hurricanes, the only real danger I consider here, and that is the main reason I started a general search. If I can't get a stand-alone hurricane policy at a reasonable cost, I shall continue to remain self-insured.
