In response to 143224: car registration vs. inspection - different dates?, posted by Harry A2 on Tuesday, 9 April 2019, at 1:18 p.m.
It's a snap. Be sure to get your vehicle inspection on or before the day you submit your registration. For the inspection, you will need your insurance card valid as of the date of the inspection and your current not-yet-expired registration certificate. Assuming the inspection is successful, the info will be automatically uploaded to the DMV. You can then just pop your registration application and check in the mail or, if you happen to be in town, swing by DMV and pay in person. There's never much of a wait (if at all) for vehicle registrations (unlike license renewals, which are generally a horror story).
