In response to 143211: Moving, posted by Jim L3 on Thursday, 4 April 2019, at 8:44 a.m.

We moved here last June and after much thought, we sold literally everything we could and then moved. We shipped two cars with Kona Car Guy and that was a really smart move. We held non-stop garage sales and donated anything left. The environment here is hard on wood furniture, so unless it is an heirloom, we'd say sell it. The thrift stores around here have great product at very reasonable prices. There are many people moving back to the mainland who have garage sales with great stuff. When we figured the cost of shipping into what it would cost us to replace furniture here, we chose to sell. We also were down-sizing from a 2400 square foot house to one of about 1200, so that is something to factor as well. What things we did ship, because we just could not live without them, we've left in boxes and have not missed. It is a hard decision and we flipped back and forth many times, but selling everything and moving turned out to be right for us.
