why switch FROM net metering????

We really don't intend to switch. I was just illustrating the real true costs of solar in its current form and the real costs of the system and payback. We do have an electric dryer still and an electric stove. Additionally Helco is jacking rates and a battery would store more electricity, get us through power outages where our current system shuts off if Helco is having a bad day. Helco also is not accommodating new solar grid ties as well as deals offered seven years ago. And you enjoy a far better return than current solar power production agreements.
Additionally, I wanted to show a little out of the box thinking can pay far better rewards than the savings on solar. We picked up a older Toyota Sequoia from California for $5,000 and it makes a far higher return renting it out than solar has ever done for us.
Δ I'm glad I got in before the door closed!!
