Homeless in Kona and the Old Airport
This is all so weird. I read that letter today and I was wondering, "Where the hell was she?" I drove through town today and the regulars weren't on the seawall on the south side of Bubba Gumps, nor were they on the seawall across the street from Gertrudes. Did you notice the lady who wrote the letter Hired a professional photographer to take their photo at the Old A? That speaks to the lens through which she may be viewing the world. I just had friend from Vancouver BC stay with us for 6 weeks. They went to the Old A to watch the sunset every night. Each evening they would strike up a conversation with someone else who was there to enjoy the sunset. I tore myself away from the computer one evening and went down with my wife. There was a young lady with a small child who was playing in the tide pools. A local family came after the sun went down and set up for a picnic dinner. Everything seemed perfectly normal to me. But we were in the middle; not the north end. My wife walks the loop in the morning with her friends and it's heavily used by multitudes of other health nuts. Oh, and I didn't see any litter on the beach at all. So I suspect the lady who hires professional photographers to take her family portrait at the beach just was there on a bad day. Mahalo, Harry
