Who are we?
Aloha, I am Jim Reynolds, President of Sunset Builders, Inc., a Hawaii licensed General Contracting Company. I have over 30 years of construction experience in Hawaii, California, New York and Massachusetts. I received a B.A. in Art History and a M.A. in Sculpture. I have always been involved in the construction industry.. My expertise is finish carpentry. What I try to bring forth in my business is a concern for quality, honesty, and fairness. Our construction reflects our concern for design, detail, and craftsmanship.

How do we work?
One of the biggest differences in how Sunset Builders, Inc. does business compared to other companies is the use of the "NEGOTIATED CONTRACT". We do not bid on construction projects. We work together with a design build team concept. The contract is negotiated and the project is built for a fixed fee. We believe that bidding is a "lose, lose" situation both for the client and the contractor. All the important components of your project will be decided by you in advance, so there will be no cutting corners to "make the bid."
