Been going here since they opened and never thought I'd post a review like this. Six of us, family and friends went for dinner. Had to go at 5.30 as they had no other slots earlier than 7. Arrived early and ordered drinks for us. They were being served as friends arrived and sat down,, but waiter walked off . Had to chase someone to get them drinks.
Appetisers came, just OK. Then entrees. My wife had lobster and compared it to a piece of rubber. Two of our party had the fish special - and said it was dried out. I had scallops swimming in a sickly sweet sauce. They were supposed to be seared, but must have had only a fleeting glimpse of a flame! Another of our party had a pasta dish and declared it watery and tasteless.
As for the service, the least said the better. Hard to imagine anyone less interested in service than this guy. He never enquired how the meal was. Just as well!
As for the 5.30 slot? The place was half empty the whole time we were there. Something we've never seen at Jackie Reys on a Saturday night. Not good enough for well over $300.
