Quite impressed by Privateer's Cove after our first visit, a dinner. Shortly after we were seated, Nick, the Chef/Owner sat with us and reviewed the menu, explaining his concepts of fine food at an affordable price, and frequently changing menu items so that both his customers and himself don't get bored with the menu. Started off with bacon wrapped shrimp with cream cheese...yummmmmy, and truffle mac and cheese, quite rich. Also a house salad with a blackberry? vinaigrette. There are only about 1/2 dozen entrees to choose from, and they all looked good. We had Lamb Chops (3/4 pound, 5 rib serving) and Halibut Cheeks, a special for the evening. Both were served with sauteed veggies and starch.
For dessert we had Creme Brulee, which Nick "torched" tableside. A nice finishing touch to our dinner.
We thoroughly enjoyed the personalized service, found the food to be quite delicious and a good value, and look forward to our next visit!
