Six of us went out for a lovely dinner a few nights ago and since the last review of the Blue Dragon was negative, I wanted to provide a different perspective. Two of us had the surf and turf and four of us had the fresh fish--with several different preparations. All of us were very pleased with our meals. Everything was nicely cooked, very fresh and tasty. We were fortunate to be able to use the coupons they have been putting in the newspaper and other publications, so with the 2 for 1 dinners, we were able to enjoy live entertainment, very good service (even though they were quite busy), and a fine meal. I really appreciate going to a place owned locally that serves Island fresh fish, meat and produce and does a really nice job of cooking and presenting the food. With it's open air setting and the balmy breezes of Kawaihae, you can't beat it for a really nice evening out. Prices for the fresh fish and surf and turf range well into the $30+, but look for those coupons and you will not feel that you are paying too much. |
