A friend told us that Makali'i Cafe was having a Greek food week, so we got take out from there last night. It was very good. Three dinners cost $30. Two of us has gyros which was made with slices of roast lamb in a large house-made pita with tzatziki sauce, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and onion( if desired) which came with a generous side of thin crisp fries ( or you could chose rice, green salad, potato salad etc.). The third person had their grilled octopus which came with orzo pasta, a large zucchini pancake or crepe, and a side salad. We will definitely go back and try things from the regular menu, which is varied and eclectic. There is a counter with a couple of stools and a few small tables, but the ambience is not such that we would eat in. They have made an effort to make the inside pleasant, but the location on the side of a warehouse building near Ace Hardware is such that takeout seemed a better option. If you want to pick up a picnic or to dispense with cooking and dishes some time, it is definitely worth a try. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner most days, but the schedule varies slightly so you might call to check.
