We took our visiting daughter to Splasher's -- our favorite breakfast place-- this Sunday morning. Located on the Northern end of Alii Drive right across from the dock and the sea wall, Splasher's gives the diner a spectacular view of the bay from its open air, shaded seating.
Lonnie and I shared today's special -- Splasher's special spiced potatoes topped with a huge scramble of eggs, ham, bacon, onions, green peppers, and cheese with Ranchero sauce ($9.99 ). Kerensa ordered the French toast (under $6.00) and loved it. It looked so good that I even asked for a bite. With 2 cups of coffee, our bill was only $20 something.
Although there are other good breakfast places, this one is our favorite because it is small and intimate with great food and a beautiful view. The diner orders at the counter, is given a high tech tracking device to put on the table (a rock with a number on it), and the food is delivered to the table. Although our server did come by to offer us more coffee, I especially like Splasher's because one is invited to help oneself to refills as needed. There is no need to catch the server's eye if the restaurant is really busy. Splasher's is also famous for its huge hamburgers and offers a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items.
Free coffee will be offered during the month of September with the purchase of an entree.
