The Hilo Bay Cafe is located in the WalMart/Ross, etc. shopping center, but don't let that stop you. Lunch today was wonderful. I had their fresh Mahi Mahi fish and chips and hubby had the sweet potato flax burger. Both were perfectly cooked and the fish was fresh and very tasty. The menu is eclectic with a little of everything which something for everyone--all fresh and mostly local ingredients. It was very busy at around 12:30 PM, but the service was just right. Lunch for the 2 of us came to around $25 without drinks or dessert. Entrees or sandwiches run around $9-$15. Lovely atmosphere, jazz on the speakers. |
