Buzz's Sandtrap (Waikoloa) * * * *   Posted by on Tuesday, 11 August 2009, at 1:22 p.m.

Buzz's Sandtrap opened up this past weekend in Waikoloa. It is located where the former Waikoloa Beach Grill used to be: go past the King's Shops in the Waikoloa Resorts and turn right at the stop sign before the Hilton (there is a sign for Buzz's at the stop sign). The restaurant is on the right. It is only open for dinner, 4pm - 11pm, I believe.
The menu has tons of pupus, sandwiches (burgers, french dip, etc), steaks, fish, salads, sides and desserts. We started off with the Artichoke Surprise appetizer - artichoke cooked with parmesan cheese. It was very good. They served bread with our appetizers/salads and the bread came with both butter and a cream cheese/kimchi spread. For an entree, my husband had the ribeye which is 14oz!!!! It was cooked on a kiawe grill and he said it was excellent and very tender. The ribeye came with soup or salad and the vegetable of the day, all which were great. I had the Thai Chicken Salad for dinner. It was very tasty - I would definitely order it again. We were WAY too stuffed for dessert - homemade mud pie, grasshopper pie, cookies and milk, run cake and ice creams. It sounded wonderful and we'll have to save room for that next time. For the appetizer, 2 main courses, an extra side dish and 3 alcoholic drinks, our bill was $90.
