To celebrate our anniversary, we went to Pahuia. We were blown away by how romantic and beautiful the beachfront, open air setting was. The service was excellent with very good timing between courses.
We all opted for the 3 course Prix Fixe Dinner for $49.00. Diners had a choice of lobster bisque or a mushroom risotto, catch of the day on bok choy seasoned with soy sauce & sesame oil or organic chicken with vegetables, and a coconut trio or Creme Brule for dessert. While we waited for our first course to arrive, we were served a basket of different breads with a variety of spreads.
We all liked our choices, but agree that we recommend the mushroom risotto over the Lobster Bisque. The risotto cake was interesting and delicious, surrounded by a few mushrooms in a light mushroom sauce, but the lobster bisque was too thin for our tastes. Both of the guys enjoyed their nicely cooked fish and the Asian taste and preparation of the Bok Choy, which did not appeal to me. I far preferred my tender chicken over the medly of mashed purple sweet potatoes, asparagus, and green beans.
Our only complaint was the cost of the wine - $14 for least expensive glass or $50 a bottle. With just 2 glasses of wine, our bill was $183.33 before the tip. We recommend you pay the $35 corking fee and bring your own.
