Now located in the former Edelweiss Restaurant building on Kawaihae Road, the owners of Huli Sue's have created one great restaurant in the resurrected Fujimamas. The menu is eclectic with an emphasis on Japanese/Pacific Rim cuisine. The summer rolls with shrimp were excellent. The 4 people in our party had 4 different main courses and they were all well loved--home made noodles, one with scallops, the other vegetarian, both with Hamakua mushrooms and truffle oil; I had the scrumptious crusty shrimp (huge ones) in a tower over sea salad with wasabi mayonaise; the last dish was lamb with stir fried veggies. As a non meat eater, I didn't try this one, but I trusted my friend's word that it was delicious. My hubby and I also shared an unusual edamame, etc. salad that was yummy and plenty for 2. Desserts were also great--I had the hot chocolate waffle with white chocolate ice cream and berry sauce. 2 of us had the frozen lemon sorbet with creme brulee. Prices were moderate. Total for the 4 of us with one glass of wine, one bar drink, 1 pupu, 1 salad, 3 desserts, 4 entrees came to just under $170 before the tip. Ambience is nice, the upper area has low tables with cushions, Japanese style. We didn't try their sushi, but I sure will next time. Highly recommended!!
