Don the Beachcomber (Kailua-Kona) * * * *   Posted by on Wednesday, 3 June 2009, at 8:16 p.m.

Shirley and I took some friends to Don the Beachcomber the other nite and really enjoyed it! Here's the review Shirley put on the Konaweb's Recommended Restaurants page:

Don the Beachcomber - at Royal Kona Resort on Alii Dr. Another great oceanside location with good food! Chef Lamb brought in a special $10,000 oven when he started working here to do the prime rib up "right", and, as he says, "It speaks for itself". The miso-marinated mahi mahi, baked on a plank, served with sliced fennel and baby bok choy, is excellent as well. The babyback pork ribs are very popular here too, and there are some great specials during the week, including the $59 dinner for two that includes the Pupu Sampler platter, choice of entree', & a bottle of wine! Check it out. Dinner, 5:30pm on. Ph: 930-3286. $$+
