ALOHA KAKOU
Thanks for visiting my website. Mahalo for your interest.
E komo mai!

Here you'll find photos and information on the custom `ukulele and guitars I make here on the southern slope of Mauna Kea, in the Ka'u District of the Big Island of Hawai`i. This is a very small shop. I work alone, with an occasional assist from an old and talented friend. Since all of my instruments are made one at a time and most are custom orders, each is really "one of a kind".

I am especially proud of the new series of Keola Beamer Artist Guitars and `Ukulele. Using Keola's double hole design and developed with Keola's input, each has a label signed by him as well as myself.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail or to call between 8:00 and 5:00 Hawai`i Std. Time. If you are visiting our beautiful Island, visitors are welcome, but an appointment is appreciated.

Thanks for looking.
Aloha,
Dennis Lake

A note on koa - There is currently a problem in the Islands with illegal or poached koa. This wood is protected now, and all of my koa is from licensed salvage logging.

ARTIST ENDORSMENTS
(in alphabetical order)
I am proud that these fine musicians endorse my work, but more importantly,
I am honored to call them my friends.

'Ukulele & Guitar:
Keola Beamer

"I played my Dennis Lake Po Mahina double ported koa guitar in concert for the very first time last night. Its beautiful tone swept the theatre like a warm breeze. After I played the first few chords at sound check, a hush came over the back of the room where the tech people were. The sound engineer told me it was the most beautiful guitar he had ever heard. I whole-heartedly agree. It has a gorgeous depth on the low end and a sweet, pure clarity in the highs. I feel like something truly beautiful has come into my life."

'Ukulele:
Nona Beamer

Nona Beamer was one of the most important and beloved figures in Hawai`i. As a teacher, activist, performer, composer and general guardian and proponent of the culture and values of Hawai`i, she stood alone. I am proud to offer "Kapuailohia" an `ukulele named in honor of Auntie Nona Kapualihohia Beamer, and designed with her, to her specifications.
