If you love golf, you are already aware of the great courses on the Big Island. Very few places on earth offer a climate so conducive to day after day of the world's finest golf. From the list to the right, you can see the range of prices for a game. The phone numbers of the Golf Shops are listed, and most open by 7AM daily. Some of the courses are at sea level, and soft sea breezes keep the greens cool and pleasant throughout most of the day. Rain is rare, especially on the northwest side of the island. The "Mauka" or mountainside courses are at higher altitudes, and are usually cooler in mid-day. Prices vary widely, and can reflect the quality of the course to a great extent. If you enjoy the game, and are on a limited budget, don't neglect the lower priced courses, however. The natural climate of Hawaii keeps all of them green and luxurious!
