Honeymoon & Big Island fond memories

Reminds me of our Honeymoon 25 years ago-10 days, 4 islands, back when you could go to the airport and jump one of many flights leaving every hour. 2 nights on Hawaii, asked a waiter in Waimea if it was possible to drive around the island in one day, he said no problem, no time at all. We were staying in Waikoloa, left early, drove to see the volcanoes, checked out the black sand beach now under lava, and were not prepared for the curves in the southwest section of the island late at night. Back to the hotel, very happy with our day. We've been back many, many times, used to visit other islands in addition to Big Island, but now we fly straight into Kona, which all started with a crazy little trip around the Big Island in one day.
