joe, you guys will love both of these adventures.The botanical gardens will blow you away with it's overall beauty.They have it laid out very nicely almost to the point that it looks natural.Hilo's landscape is beautiful anyway and the gardens just adds to that look,it's well worth the time.It was raining while we were there which enhanced the adventure,the beauty and kept down the mosquitos, be assured, they are there and they want to eat you. think deet.
the zipline as i stated is a little pricey($160)but for around five hours of entertainment it's not bad.The ride up to the course is thru the kohala forest which is really fun and beautiful.and will give your false teeth and kidneys a workout.
the course is laid out with eight different zips,each one a little longer and higher than the one before it.The last two are the most fun,you'll both will wanna turn around and do it again.They told us they are working on a "extreme" zipline which'll be the cat's meow.,YOU TUBE has some good videos,type in big island ziplines, hope this helps you a little, can't wait til we get back there again!!!
