Good Medical Care in Kona

We have lived here over 5 years and have been VERY happy with our medical care. We live in Kona and the Kaiser Clinic here has grown every year since we arrived. The doctors take time with you and are available very quickly when you need them. You can even e-mail them or have phone appt. Specialists come to Kona on a regular schedule, but if need be, Kaiser pays for your flight and airport shuttle to see a specialist in Honolulu. I have done this once and accompanied my husband once (Kaiser paid for both flights). As far as emergency room care goes, we have used Kona Hospital's services a couple times and were very pleased. Cases are always seen by the level of urgency so a wait is to be expected, but it hasn't been extreme. The people at the hospital are so caring and helpful too. This doesn't mean that things will never go wrong, but things can go wrong anywhere! I'd rather be here!
