Hi in 2008 I shipped a 2004 Triumph Bonneville From NJ to my son who lives on the BI.
I called a few local pack & ship places, (like UPS stores) and found one that built a crate and shipped it by ground via ABF to California to Matson and from there it went to Oahu. From Oahu it went to Kawaihae via Kona Transport.
He picked it up at the Kona Transport office. it arrived in perfect shape and it cost a total of $1,875.00 and only took 10 days from start to finish.
We also could put his helmets & other things in the crate before it was nailed & baneded closed.
Of course this was before the gas crunch, but this was the most reasonable price I found.
I went to the Shipping Room and he took care of everything.
Maybe there is a place like this in your area.
I hope this helps.
