News/social media outlets require HYPE for ratings

It's true the southern 1/3 of the island might not be a good choice for a vacation especially the eastern side of that 1/3. Norwegian Cruise Lines has realized this and is now planning to come to Kona next Wed for their usual stop.
Anyone who listens to social media is nuts. The news outlets want to show the spectacular events and certainly the Leilani Estates properties give them that. If I thought I could get close to see something I would take the long drive down there. I do remember one guy on the news trying to make a name for himself in the rain with a raincoat and a gas mask trying to report the news and telling everyone how he was afraid of the acid rain! It's just hype to get news ratings. Yes the vog is over a bit of the island depending on your location but I have had asthma for years and I don't really notice it. In Kona we have seen no ash from what I have observed. For me I can never figure out what is vog and what is just rain clouds coming over the mountain for the afternoon showers.
