Depends on which way the wind is blowing each day

The reality is, it really depends on which way the wind is blowing each day as to what kind of experience you'll have here. On a very voggy day, people who can (not tourists) will be trying stay inside as much as possible with their air filters on, and the views of the coastline and the mountains could be nil. Some parts of the island are generally spared from vog, however, ie. Hawi and environs. Here are the links Konabob and I use to see current conditions and vog flow trends:
