Aloha Tonya, For God's sake don't cancel you trip. Vog is nothing new and it's not any worse now that it has been over 100 times in the past 20 years. The danger area is around 10 square miles in lower Puna. The entire island is over 4,000 square miles. My vacation renters just left this morning after an enjoyable 10 days vacation and their only regret was not being able to get close enough to the eruption to see it. They loved their stay at our beautiful farm in Kailua and said Hapuna Beach was clear as a bell. The vog at my house didn't bother them one bit. Mahalo, Harry

Δ I'm not "afraid" of volcano, but of extreme vog in Kona
