WOW I wasn't aware that the rates were so drastically different. I have been with Metropolitan for years and from what I can see here it is very reasonable and I have had no complaints when I had claims. It is not available to everyone but I got it as a Digital Equipment retiree. Something they don't show in these rates are rebates. Metropolitan issues rebates if they had a low claim year and when I had them for home insurance it was quite significant. It also doesn't seem to matter about speeding tickets (haven't had any here but...) ;-.]
Another thing you need to look at is discounts for doing all your insurance with one company (House and vehicle).
I wonder if some of the company rates are only for people who are large risks since they are so high.
