In response to 141694: Bringing dog and only have so many hands, posted by Nicole M on Saturday, 20 January 2018, at 7:21 a.m.
Well, Nicole, you have to make your own decisions, but I don't understand why your husband can't help by bringing the valuable carry-on stuff if you can't handle it. If he can't, then you could just get a large purse or over-the-shoulder travel bag and everything is in one place.
Whenever I travel I always put my medications and my jewelry in my carry-on. Don't want to risk having my check-in luggage inspected or lost and I certainly don't want to risk putting super valuable stuff in the mail.
I've never heard of TSA taking things out of carry-on bags. If they have any questions about what they see on the x-ray, then they pull you aside and ask if you would open the bag for them or if it is okay for them to open the bag.
