Astounding Big Island Real Estate Volume
In response to 141614: Total sales volumn, posted by Kenny W on Monday, 8 January 2018, at 5:38 p.m.
Aloha Kenny, I too was astounded by the Total Sales Volume. I actually hadn't looked at it until you brought it up. I always scroll down to the Median Sales Price and look at the year-end percentage price increase or decrease. If anyone is wondering what we are talking about, it's a three part synopsis of all Big Island real estate transactions which I publish every month as a supplement to my daily email newsletter. You can sign up for the newsletter at www.konarealestateagent.com (I know, shameless plug!!)
It's hard to believe that almost a billion and a half dollars worth of real estate turns over on the Big Island every year. I was particularly moved by Jim MC5U's comments about the Big Island. I share his feelings about this place totally. However, I disagree that it's expensive. Maui, Kauai and Oahu are much more expensive. And in San Francisco it costs a million bucks for a studio apartment. Many other cities across the U.S. are more expensive than Kona. But if your on a budget, there are 36 homes of two bedrooms or more between $139K and $300K in Hawaiian Paradise park alone. In other Puna subdivisions there are 22 two bedroom homes from $65K to $200K.
