In response to 141498: VOG and long term living in Kona, posted by Tommy L on Saturday, 2 December 2017, at 11:18 a.m.

We have had several friends move from the Kona area and they say the cumulative effect of vog was the reason. They do not have the breathing and energy issues on the mainland where they relocated. We sold our property on the Big Island after I had bad reactions to heavy vog while on vacation the last two trips where it triggered an eye condition. Hospital admissions go up in Honolulu when the Kona Winds bring vog to Honolulu. My advice, rent before buying in case vog becomes an issue. Also, note some areas are way more prone to vog than others.
