In response to 141324: TSA at KOA, posted by Chris M5 on Monday, 11 September 2017, at 5:06 a.m.
I'm so sorry Chris, I posted this message and then my ma-in-law moved here and it's been hectic... I forgot that I had posted this!
Age requirements: none that I know of. I believe the only requirements they mention (other than being able to pass the initial battery of tests) is being able to stand for hours at a time, and being able to lift 70 lbs.
Flak for not being in Kona: no, none at all. In fact, when they called me to set up the airport assessment here in Kona, she called at 5:30am local hawaii time, assuming I was still in Pennsylvania (I had forgotten to update my address in the candidate dashboard).
One interesting side note: during my airport assessment, I was in a waiting room with 3 other candidates -- none were local. All had flown in from the mainland for their interview!
I will shoot this to you via email as well. :)
