In response to 141146: Container Questions, posted by Melody H on Wednesday, 12 July 2017, at 8:37 p.m.
We used Kona Car Guy/Kona Container Guy last year to move from New Jersey. Check out their web site, lots of information there, you can also call Lauren, very helpful with answering questions. There are different levels of service you can choose. We opted to have them load a 20' container and we emptied it here ourselves. They delivered it right to our new home and we had a week to unload it.(there is also a 40' size) They sent someone to our home in NJ who arranged men to load it. There appeared to be a technique to loading it for the ocean voyage, we would have never loaded it properly. We didn't have anything that got damaged. They charge a set price, weight didn't matter. We did not fill the container completely, which I have thought of the things I could have brought since! We paid around $11,000. We brought some of our furniture, most household items, we bought guest room and living room furniture here. Before we moved I found most people recommended getting rid of everything and buying new. We chose to bring a lot of our belongings because depending on your taste, there is very little selection here and things are expensive. I hope that answers some of your questions. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions.
