Equal and Opposite
In response to 141131: South Kona, posted by Dennis on Friday, 7 July 2017, at 5:32 p.m.
Our experience was just the opposite due to our definition of "Paradise". We spent our first 3.5 years "in town" from 2000 to mid-2004, then sold out and bought "an estate" way down in South Kona at the 950 elevation surrounded by jungle with fantastic 180 degree unobstructed ocean views and extremely few neighbors, none of which are close.
We're retired, go to town only once a month and find our exquisite delight never going outside our gate except when absolutely necessary. We can even go down the the ocean without "going outside" our private zone. For us, the total isolation, complete lack of people, zero "man made noise" impinging on our lives is exactly the paradise we always wanted.
Been in that paradise 13 years now and can't imagine anything better. Everyone has their own definition of their ultimate place to live...your "forever home"...and I hope you find yours.
