Kona & Keauhou Vet direct release boycott Delta airline
Kona Vets will not meet Delta planes for direct release of your pet. They meet Alaska, Hawaiian, and United - but why not DELTA? I have flown back and forth to SEA with my 120 lb Neapolitan Mastiff in cabin as my service animal for the last 2 years. We've flown at least 6 times back and forth. I usually fly Alaska Airliens. But recently Alaska changed their pricing (I bought 3 seats for me and the dog, George) Delta is now better and cheaper. Both (the only) vets who are approved by Dept of Ag to do Direct Release are Keauhou Vet and Kona Vet will not do direct release if I fly Delta (and I come in at regular hours 8-5 mon-fri. WHY????? What is wrong with Delta? I flew Delta from SEA to Honolulu and had Dept of Ag greet me, didn't cost the $225 for Direct Release from Kona Vets....but then had to fly to KOA on Island Air. Hassle! George was too big to lie in front of 2 seats and had his butt partially in the aisle of an empty plane, the stewardess kept pushing his butt into the seat area.... Thanks Keauhou and Kona Vet. When I asked why they won't meet a Delta passenger with pet, they said, "we can't answer that"...What kind of an answer is that? My last 2 flights on Delta were ONTIME arrivals and good flights. Unlike Alaska recently.
