I started to look into reducing power costs at our home above the airport.
The cost had settled to $250 - 190 a month. I replaced all light bulbs with LED's, and saw a $35 - $40 reduction, then moved the water heater so the ohana would never flood, and switched to a hybrid water heater. Added a circulation pump and an amazing amount of insulation everywhere I could reach. Now bill is consistently ~$120 - $130/ month.
It took a year and got solar pv, now just under a hundred / month. ($22,000)
Got the most out of LED bulbs 74 -at- $4 each. and insulation and water heater.
