In response to 140672: Is VOG a dealbreaker for retiree considering K-K?, posted by David M5 on Friday, 3 March 2017, at 8:15 a.m.

I've lived here for 7 years now and there are days when the vog is noticeable. Over the years I've noticed I complain about it more and more. However, recently I traveled to San Antonio TX for a week. I lived in TX before I moved to HI and my allergies were always bad there and improved a lot when I moved to HI. This trip to San Antonio I experienced the worst allergies of my life. It was unbelievable how awful it was there. After that reminder of how awful the air quality is in most major cites on the mainland, a little vog now and then is no problem. The point is, everything is relative. Don't let vog stop you from moving to the most beautiful place on this planet.
