Most folks with access to county water will definitely take advantage of it. The water quality is fine and service is great. I doubt that people choose catchment over county. Some rural homes keep catchment for yard watering but have county water for drinking in the house. Buying water for a tank is very expensive....county water is relatively cheap. The value of a property that is connected will be greater than one on catchment. Also, the rain tends to be acidic because it is falling through vog. This means you need a serious filter system to make catchment water usable. It is a lot of maintenance as well as depending on a pump to deliver the water to the house. If you have a choice.....county water is the best deal. Diane H.
